HON. EMEKA OJOBOR HOSTS INAUGURAL MEETING OF ENUGU NORTH GRASSROOT MOVEMENT FOR GOVERNOR PETER MBAH
In alignment with the Tomorrow Is Here agenda of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroot Mobilization (Enugu North), Hon. Chief Emeka Ojobor, over the weekend, held the inaugural meeting of the Local Government Coordinators of the Grassroot Movement for Peter Mbah (GMPM) at the Nsukka Local Government Secretariat.
The strategic meeting marked a new milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen citizens’ participation and deepen the reach of government policies and programs across the Nsukka Zone.
The session commenced with an opening prayer led by Mr. Samuel Anyanwuma, the Igbo-Eze North Coordinator. In his address, Hon. Ojobor appreciated the Coordinators for their loyalty and dedication to the Mbah administration and reminded them that the governor’s vision goes beyond politics, it is about transforming lives, rebuilding public confidence, and ensuring inclusive development that reaches every community in Enugu State.
He charged the Coordinators, representing Igbo-Etiti; ACJ-Favour Amuka, Nsukka; Onah Ikechukwu David, Uzo-Uwani; Diara Timothy Chinwe, Igbo-Eze South; Darlington Chukwuma, Igbo-Eze North; Samuel Anyanwu, and Udenu Local Government Areas; Henry Chibuike, to act as ambassadors of progress, carrying the achievements and scorecards of the administration to markets, schools, churches, mosques, traditional institutions, youth organizations, and community unions across the zone.
During the interactive session, the Coordinators commended the governor’s leadership and highlighted several achievements, including the appointment of Prof. Simon Ortuanya, an Nsukka indigene, as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; the ongoing Smart Schools educational reforms; the Water Reticulation Project; recovery of moribund state assets; the rise in internally generated revenue (IGR); tourism revitalization; rural infrastructure upgrades; improved security; and youth empowerment initiatives.
They also deliberated on innovative strategies to communicate the government’s policies effectively at the grassroots level, ensuring that the benefits of the Mbah administration are understood and appreciated by every resident.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Ojobor encouraged the Coordinators to remain steadfast and united in promoting the governor’s transformational vision.
> “We must build a system and pattern of mobilization so strong that even the blind and the deaf will recognize the good works of His Excellency,”
he said, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to people-centered governance.
He further revealed that the structure of grassroots mobilization will soon be expanded to include ward coordinators, youth and women leaders, market associations, religious organizations, and traditional representatives, ensuring that every nook and cranny of Enugu North feels the impact of good governance.
Also speaking, Hon. ACJ Favour Amuka, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Speechwriting and GMPM Coordinator for Igbo-Etiti LGA, quoted the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, saying,
> “Governor Peter Mbah is a brand that can never be dented.”
He urged the Coordinators to carry the governor’s message of transformation with conviction and pride, describing him as “a leader redefining governance and restoring public confidence in service.”
The meeting ended with renewed commitment and enthusiasm, setting the tone for a more coordinated and impactful grassroots engagement across the Enugu North Zone.
Hon. Chief Emeka Ojobor, a respected businessman and fearless mobilizer, is widely recognized for his deep understanding of the political and community landscape of Enugu North. His appointment as Special Assistant on Grassroot Mobilization is viewed as a strategic decision, placing a tested and trusted hand at the forefront of connecting government to the people.
